Worn-out mulch is one of those things that sneaks up on you. It fades, it thins out, and suddenly your beds look rough - even if everything else on your property is in great shape. A fresh layer fixes that fast.
Here's what we were working with - large, sweeping landscape beds wrapping around mature trees and a really unique converted grain silo structure. The beds themselves had good bones, solid edging, nice stone pathway detail running through them. They just needed fresh mulch to pull it all together. That's exactly what we did.
We laid down a full coverage of rich, reddish-brown wood chip mulch across the entire bed area. Even coverage, right up to the edging. No thin spots, no bare patches. When you do it right, the fresh mulch makes the stone edging pop, the grass line look cleaner, and the whole property feel intentional and well cared for.
Beyond curb appeal, a proper mulch layer actually does real work for your landscape. It holds moisture in the soil, reduces how often you need to water, and cuts down on weed pressure significantly. That's less maintenance headache for you all season long.
A mulch refresh is one of the highest-impact things you can do for your property without a major investment. If your beds are looking flat and faded, this is the fix.
