Custom Stone Outdoor Fireplace Built in Chanhassen

But the work we're most proud of tends to be the stuff that really makes a backyard feel like somewhere you actually want to spend time - like this custom stone fireplace we built in Chanhassen.

Here's what we were working with: a deck that needed a serious focal point. The homeowner wanted something built to last, something with character. So we got to work laying up natural-texture stone block, cutting and fitting each course by hand to get the look just right. The stone cutting alone takes real skill - you're working with angle grinders and making precise cuts to keep everything tight and level as you build up in height.

What came together is a full outdoor fireplace with a detailed decorative medallion inset above the firebox, a structured chimney cap, and a mesh screen door on the firebox opening. The layered stonework gives it real visual depth. It doesn't look like something you ordered out of a catalog - because it isn't. Every block was placed intentionally.
